The Internist will specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of internal diseases in adults. This role involves managing complex chronic conditions, providing comprehensive primary care, and coordinating care with other specialists, with a strong understanding of prevalent health issues in Ethiopia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Duties:
Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic interpretation.
Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic internal medical conditions, such as hypertension, diabetes, respiratory illnesses, and cardiovascular diseases.
Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and referrals.
Provide preventative care, health screenings, and patient education on disease management.
Coordinate care for patients with multiple comorbidities, working collaboratively with other specialists.
Respond to medical emergencies and participate in on-call rotations.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records.
Participate in departmental meetings, case reviews, and quality assurance activities.
Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.
Educational Duties:
Educate patients and their families on disease preventions and treatment adherence.
Mentor medical students and residents during their internal medicine rotations.
Engage in continuous medical education to remain current with advancements in internal medicine.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Medical Doctor (MD) degree from a recognized institution
Specialization in Internal Medicine
Valid professional license by the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority (EFDA) or equivalent regulatory body in Ethiopia
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable post-internship experience as an Internist in a clinical setting.

Strong diagnostic acumen and ability to manage complex medical cases.
Broader medical knowledge across various specialties
Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills and teamwork
Ability to work under pressure
Good time management and organizational skills
