The Warehouse Officer role supports the TRAIL Phase III Project and the Rural Connectivity for Improved Food Security Program (RCFSP) by ensuring efficient and accountable management of trail bridge materials.
Position: Warehouse Officer
Purpose
The Warehouse Officer ensures secure storage, technical processing, and dispatch of steel wire ropes, thimbles, bulldog grips, and related components. The role maintains compliance with safety standards, technical specifications, and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end‑to‑end warehouse operations: receiving, inspection, storage, processing, and dispatch. Maintain accurate inventory systems and ensure full traceability of materials. Supervise cable unreeling, measuring, cutting, re‑reeling, and safe handling with heavy equipment. Plan and oversee open yard operations, ensuring safety zones, drainage, and equipment availability. Enforce warehouse security systems, including controlled access and CCTV. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards and PPE use. Prepare dispatch documents, verify approvals, and maintain tracking logs. Support audits, compliance checks, and donor reporting.
Qualifications
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology & Management, Public Works Engineering, or related fields. Experience: Minimum 5 years in warehouse/store management, preferably handling heavy construction materials (steel products). Skills: Strong knowledge of warehouse and inventory systems Practical experience in cable handling and cutting operations Understanding of heavy equipment handling and safety standards Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word)
