Role description

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a German implementing organization which provides services worldwide in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. We work to shape a future worth living in over 120 countries around the world.

As part of the implementation of the BMM program, GIZ has a dual role both to coordinate the activities of the implementing partners based on the agreed-upon annual work plan, as well as to directly implement certain activities.

Position 1: Junior Rural Development/Dryland Farming Adviser

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dryland Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Rural Development, or related field.

Professional experience

  • Freshly graduates up to one year of field experience in community-based agricultural extension or watershed development or dryland farming.
  • First experience with participatory training methods and adult learning principles.
  • Familiarity with flood-based farming, water harvesting, or soil-water conservation in dryland settings is desirable.

Position 2: Cleaner/Coffee Girl– 1A

Qualification:

  • High school diploma or completion of Grade 10 or above.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant cleaning or housekeeping experience.
  • Basic English communication skills (A1 level or above).
  • Strong communicative skills in team setting
  • Very good knowledge of Amharic and English both in writing and speaking. Fluency in Amharic is required.
  • Experience working with an international organization is an added advantage
