What you will do:
Here are some of your specific responsibilities
- Provide an enabling environment for implementation of cash-based interventions through guidance and SOP development.
- Contribute to identification of opportunities for cash and market-based programming.
- Conduct regular financial analysis and advise the Country Management Group on risks and opportunities.
- Ensure robustness of country office financial management systems and processes.
- Strengthen financial management capacity of sub-recipients, partners and consortium members.
- Design, improve and maintain effective financial systems and controls.
- Promote a culture of high performance, accountability and resource stewardship.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations and NRC financial policies.
- Support gender balance and localization objectives through recruitment and staff development.
- Champion implementation of new financial strategies, tools, policies and procedures.
- Act as principal advisor to senior management on financial management matters.
- University MA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a senior finance Coordinator in a complex humanitarian or recovery context.
- Experience working in large-scale, complex and volatile environments.
- Documented results related to financial leadership and management responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of leadership and people management.
- Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and financial software.
- Strong knowledge of donor regulations including EU, ECHO, USAID and UN donors.
- Experience managing consortium programmes or lead agency responsibilities.
- Knowledge of cash-based interventions and financial service provider assessments.
- Fluency in English, written and verbal.
- Experience conducting or leading administrative investigations is an advantage.
- Advanced people management, coaching and mentoring skills.
- Excellent financial analysis, forecasting and strategic planning skills.
- Experience in South Sudan or similar humanitarian contexts is desirable.
- Duty station: Addis Ababa Country Office.
- Contract: Until 31st Dec 2026 Renewable upon availability of funds.
- Travel: 30%
- Salary/benefits: Grade 9 on NRC’s Resident salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
