  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
  • The Chief of Party will be responsible for the oversight of all program activities and staff under a multi-sectoral emergency award funded by the United States Department of State. The Chief of Party will provide leadership for program implementation by monitoring achievement of project goals, directing operations, managing budget spending, mitigating unforeseen challenges, and supervising staff. The Chief of Party will also be heavily involved in external stakeholder engagement, reporting processes, and in maintaining overall compliance with the terms of agreement, as well as with donor rules and regulations.
  • Ensure project activities comply with international and Samaritans Purse standards and meet donor rules and regulations.
  • Assume overall responsibility for the effective implementation of work plans and ensure delivery is on time, within budget, meets donor and stakeholder expectations, and is contractually compliant.
  • Manage the grant budget within approved spending levels, and ensure accurate and timely financial reports to donors and to appropriate Samaritans Purse Ethiopian and International Headquarters staff.
  • Discuss plans and strategies with relevant stakeholders, including government authorities, UN agencies, other humanitarian actors, and Samaritans Purse partners, to ensure proper understanding and coordination of project objectives.
  • Make regular visits to project field sites, providing staff support, addressing programmatic challenges, and exploring future program possibilities.
  • Directly supervises 5-10 non-supervisory employees 2 supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Samaritans Purse policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • All other duties as assigned.
What are the qualifications? Serve with Excellence
  • Bachelors Degree (B.A.) rom four-year college or university and five (5) to seven (7) related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience managing United States Government funding and/or multi-million-dollar grants
  • Thorough knowledge of the field of procurement and inventory software, and Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Access
  • Ability to establish rapport and develop relationships with all key stakeholders, vendors, customers, and colleagues
  • Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts and make decisions based on all available information.
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies preferred, not required
