Role description

Position 1: Property Manager

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Property Management, Facilities Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 4 to 6 years of professional experience in property or facilities management, with a proven track record of managing medium to large-scale physical plants.

The Property Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight of Elon Academy’s physical facilities, grounds, and school property. The role ensures that all campus infrastructure is safe, fully functional, and compliant with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee routine and emergency maintenance for all school buildings, classrooms, administrative offices, laboratories, and outdoor spaces.
  • Supervise external contractors, service providers, and maintenance staff; review service level agreements, negotiate contracts, and monitor quality of work.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all institutional assets, furniture, equipment, and supplies, including periodic audits and reconciliation.
  • Ensure campus facilities comply with local building codes, occupational health, and safety standards, including fire safety, security, and emergency preparedness.
  • Assist in developing and managing the annual facilities maintenance budget, tracking expenditures, and sourcing cost-effective operational solutions.
  • Coordinate logistics for school events, extracurricular activities, and internal space allocations to optimize campus functionality.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance logs, inspection reports, warranties, and utility consumption, and submit regular reports to administration.

Industry Advantage: Prior working experience within school institutions or educational campuses is a strong plus.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading architectural/engineering drawings, basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, and strong computer literacy (MS Office / facility management software).

Competencies: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong negotiation and vendor management skills, excellent organizational capacity, and high integrity.

Language: Fluency in Amharic and English (written and spoken).

Place of Work: Haya Hulet, behind the Bata Complex building, immediately adjacent to Misrak Dil School.

Position 2: English Teacher

Educational Qualification: MA / BA / BSc / B.Ed in English Language and Literature.

Experience: 0–10 years of experience. Senior experience is a plus.

Requirements: Caring and nurturing attitude, attentiveness to child safety, and a high sense of responsibility.
