Job Summary
The Project Officer (PO) reports to the Country Representative and plays a key role in supporting program implementation, stakeholder engagement, and operational logistics. The PO ensures effective delivery of Catalyste+ programs in Ethiopia, aligned with organizational policies, donor priorities, and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Program Support
Participate in stakeholder consultations and integrate local knowledge into program strategies Support partnership development, assignment design, and applications to meet country targets Coordinate recruitment and deployment of Catalyste+ Advisors (CAs) Provide logistical support and ensure work plans align with program objectives Collect content for communications and marketing materials Represent Catalyste+ at meetings/events when delegated Contribute to annual work plans and donor reports
Operational Support
Manage CA arrival, placement, and departure processes in collaboration with Volunteer Services Arrange accommodation, food, and in‑country travel for CAs Organize meetings between CAs and partners Vet and hire vendors/service providers (e.g., interpreters) Provide orientation and monitor CA progress Support accounting, budget management, and financial reporting Ensure compliance with security, code of conduct, and governance policies
Organizational Learning
Support gender‑based analysis in project design and implementation Collect and share quality data with the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) team Provide evidence‑based recommendations to improve long‑term program results
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Development, or related fields Minimum 3 years of experience in project management or similar roles Strong understanding of international development issues (gender equality, climate change, private sector development, trade, governance) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong report writing and documentation skills Cultural sensitivity and ability to work diplomatically on sensitive issues Ability to work independently and under pressure in team environments Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
