Position Overview:
We are seeking a trustworthy, detail-oriented, and welcoming
Cashier & Front-Desk Receptionist
. The primary responsibility of this role is to accurately handle all patient billing, cash management, and financial transactions. Additionally, this individual will serve as the face of our medical center—greeting visitors, managing the reception area, and answering initial inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Cashier Duties (Primary Focus):
Process all patient payments accurately, including cash, card transactions, mobile banking, and insurance billings.
Issue official invoices, receipts, and balance the cash drawer meticulously at the end of every shift.
Verify billing details against medical charts or electronic medical records before processing payments.
Maintain secure and confidential handling of all financial records and patient data.
Reception & Front-Desk Duties (Secondary Focus):
Warmly greet patients and families upon arrival, providing clear directions and a comforting environment.
Register new patients, update records, and coordinate with the nursing team regarding waiting lines.
Manage the front-desk telephone line, answering general inquiries and transferring urgent medical calls to the appropriate department.
Keep the reception desk and waiting lobby organized, professional, and welcoming.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Secretarial Science, Office Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working as a cashier or front-desk agent. Prior experience within a hospital, clinic, or diagnostic center is highly advantageous.
Skills:
Excellent mathematical and cash-handling skills with zero-tolerance for discrepancies.
High proficiency in spoken and written Amharic and English. Proficiency in additional local or international languages is a plus.
Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, and familiarity with Point of Sale or clinic billing software).
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient, empathetic attitude toward expecting mothers and anxious parents.
High level of integrity, punctuality, and trustworthiness.
