About the Role
AeTrade Group is seeking a commercially minded Buyer and Market Linkage Lead to drive demand generation, buyer acquisition, buyer-seller matchmaking, and market expansion for Sokokuu Marketplace.
The successful candidate will identify and engage buyers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, corporate customers, institutional buyers, diaspora customers, exporters, importers, and cross-border trade partners. The role will ensure that Sokokuu vendors are connected to real market opportunities and actual sales.
This is a key role within the Commercial Track of the Sokokuu Marketplace Unit.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement buyer acquisition and market linkage strategies.
Identify and engage buyers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, corporate buyers, institutional procurement actors, exporters, importers, diaspora buyers, and cross-border trade partners.
Build and maintain buyer databases by sector, geography, product demand, volume requirements, and trade corridor.
Facilitate buyer-seller matchmaking between Sokokuu vendors and potential customers.
Support B2B, B2C, B2B2C, diaspora, and institutional procurement opportunities.
Work with vendors to improve product readiness, pricing, packaging, branding, quality, and delivery capacity.
Coordinate with logistics and payment teams to support transaction completion.
Prepare market intelligence briefs, buyer engagement reports, and demandmapping updates.
Required Profile
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, international trade, economics, supply chain, agribusiness, or a related field.
Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in market linkage, buyer relations, trade facilitation, export promotion, procurement, business development, or valuechain development.
Strong market development, negotiation, buyer engagement, and reporting skills.
