Junior Customer Service Officer – Chiro Branch
Bunna Bank is seeking an entry-level Junior Customer Service Officer for its Chiro Branch. The selected candidate will participate in a structured six-month rotational on-the-job training program across designated model and operational branches.
During the training period, the Junior Customer Service Officer will develop practical knowledge of the bank’s operational policies and procedures while supporting customer service, business development, transaction processing, reconciliation, and branch operations.
The position reports to the respective Branch Manager, Business Manager, or Operation Manager .
Successful completion of the six-month training program provides an opportunity for promotion to Customer Service Officer .
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service and Account Operations
Serve customers at the counter and provide support with account-related services. Open new customer accounts. Process passbooks and cheque books. Maintain and manage account registers.
Sales and Business Development
Promote and sell the bank’s products and services. Promote alternative banking channels. Recruit new customers. Identify and generate potential sales leads.
Customer, Merchant and Agent Relationships
Build and maintain relationships with branch customers. Develop effective working relationships with merchants and agents. Support branch activities involving customer and agent relationships.
Transaction Processing and Back-Office Support
Process cheque deposits. File and maintain bank documents. Assist the Customer Service Officer I with operational activities. Support day-to-day back-office branch operations.
Financial Reconciliation
Reconcile daily ATM transactions. Reconcile POS transactions. Reconcile merchant account transactions. Balance branch books. Settle suspense accounts in a timely manner.
Compliance and Resource Mobilization
Follow established branch banking procedures. Comply with applicable National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) directives and requirements. Handle returned cheques in accordance with applicable procedures. Participate in branch resource mobilization activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
Applicants should have a First Degree in one of the following fields:
Accounting Management Finance Economics Banking & Finance A related field
A First Degree in Business Administration and Information System (BAIS) is advantageous.
Training or certification in Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology (IT), or a related area is also required according to the stated qualification criteria.
Work Experience
No prior work experience is required. This is an entry-level banking position .

Candidates should demonstrate:
Basic understanding of banking operations. Strong customer relationship skills. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Professional and presentable appearance. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
