Position: Grants Manager – Addis Ababa
Job Objective
The Grants Manager will coordinate proposal development, grant writing, donor compliance, and reporting under the supervision of the Country Director. The role ensures effective fundraising, donor engagement, and technical support to field teams and partners, while acting as the focal point for headquarters and national office on all grant‑related matters.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate proposal development from identification to submission. Support project design, budgeting, and donor alignment. Monitor grant implementation and ensure compliance with donor rules. Provide technical training and backstopping to field teams and partners. Lead donor reporting processes and ensure timely, quality submissions. Identify new funding opportunities and support fundraising strategies. Act as focal point for HQ and donors on grants management. Support audits, evaluations, and knowledge management systems.
Qualifications & Experience
University degree in Economics, Development Studies, Business Administration, Political Science, Sociology, or related fields. Minimum 3 years in grant management and 5 years in program management. At least 2 years of international experience in development/humanitarian contexts. Proven experience with donors such as EU, UN, Spanish Cooperation, Italian Cooperation, and others. Strong skills in proposal writing, donor compliance, and reporting. Experience with ERP/grant management systems (SAP, Octavia, etc.) is an advantage. Knowledge of gender mainstreaming, PSEA, and CFRM policies.
Languages
Essential: High proficiency in English and Spanish. Preferred: Italian.
