Role Overview
The Accounts & Admin Executive provides essential financial and administrative support to the two-wheeler and three-wheeler business operations in Ethiopia. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role ensures accurate day-to-day bookkeeping, timely processing of transactions, and smooth administrative functioning of the office. The incumbent will play a dual role — maintaining financial discipline in line with Ethiopian statutory requirements while also ensuring that office administration, vendor coordination, and compliance documentation are handled efficiently. This position is well-suited to a detail-oriented professional who can operate effectively within a growing automotive business in a dynamic emerging market.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate books of accounts including recording of daily sales, purchases, receipts, and payments for the two-wheeler and three-wheeler business.
Process invoices, expense claims, and vendor payments in a timely manner, ensuring proper documentation and authorisation.
Assist the Finance Manager in preparing monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, and cash flow reports.
Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax regulations including VAT filings, withholding tax, and other statutory obligations.
Manage petty cash, office supplies procurement, and coordinate with vendors for administrative requirements.
Maintain organised filing of all financial records, contracts, import documentation, and regulatory licences.
Support HR administration tasks such as attendance tracking, payroll inputs, and employee expense processing.
Liaise with government authorities, banks, and auditors as directed by the Finance Manager.
Manage office supplies and coordinate procurement.
Maintain records for contracts, leases, utilities, and service providers.
Coordinate office repairs, maintenance, and vendor follow‑ups.
Maintain company legal and statutory documents.
License renewals, insurance records, and compliance documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
5–7 years of accounting and administrative experience, preferably in a trading, automotive, or import/distribution company in Ethiopia.
Sound knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws, VAT regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Tally, Peachtree, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Good written and spoken English and Amharic; ability to liaise effectively with expat management and local stakeholders.
