Role description
World Vision Ethiopia began its first intervention in Ethiopia in 1971 with relief and opened the Ethiopia office in 1975. Relief, rehabilitation, and small community development projects dominated the decade that followed. During the 1984/85 drought, World Vision Ethiopia participated in a massive relief operation that saved the lives of millions of people.
Starting its operation with emergency intervention in some parts of Ethiopia, World Vision currently operates in 53 Area Programs (APs) implementing effective programmes, such as Education, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Nutrition, Emergency Response, Faith and Development, Food Security, Economic Development, Climate change, and environmental projects and other cross-cutting programmes.
Position 1: Cash & Digital Business unit Head
Educational level required:
- University degrees in international development, International Relations, Sociology, Social Protection, or related field of study preferred. Additional fields of study relevant to the role may be considered. Employment experience may substitute for some education.
- Technical Training qualifications required on Cash and Voucher a cross different sectors including Food Assistance program (JEOP & WFP) is an asset
Experience:
- Recommended 8 years of relevant progressive experience, out of which 5 years in managerial positions.
- Experience in a humanitarian environment including significant field operations experience running both emergency & development programs is required.
Additional Experience
- Significant management experience working in emergency response or fragile state contexts.
- Direct experience in implementing cash assistance Programs , market analysis and economic recovery.
- Previous experience of managing highly technical teams in CVA implementation
- Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills with ability to make sound judgment.
- Ability to connect and translate between technical and strategic levels
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills and the ability to build credibility and work effectively with culturally diverse groups as well as various staffing levels within member organizations.
- Able to work independently, with a lot of drive, energy, persistence, and dynamism.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to write reports.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and service-oriented.
Working Environment / Conditions
- Work environment: Woreda-based with frequent travel to the field where disasters strike and sometimes to conflict areas and under stress conditions (IDPs);
- Travel: 20% travel to Operation areas to support
- On call: 80%

Position 2: Digital Marketing and Engagements Specialist
Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or related field.
Relevant certifications in digital marketing, analytics, or platform management (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, HubSpot, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
Additional training in digital strategy, analytics, UX, or content marketing is an asset. Required Professional Experience
Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in digital strategy, marketing, or communications across multi-platform environments.
Advanced technical expertise in digital platforms, web systems, analytics tools, and campaign management.
Demonstrated ability to design and guide digital systems, frameworks, and workflows across teams without direct authority.
Proven ability to advise and influence senior leadership on digital positioning and thought leadership.
Strong analytical capability to interpret data and inform strategic decisions.
Demonstrated ability to integrate digital engagement with fundraising, advocacy, and organizational positioning.
Strong influencing and advisory skills to guide and align cross-functional stakeholders in complex environments.
