About the Position
The ICT function supports UNICEF’s mission and strategic plan by enabling programme and operational effectiveness and efficiency through innovation, partnerships, and the timely, secure and safe provision of ICT solutions and services.
The Digital Impact Specialist will manage, lead and support ICT functional accountability, internally manage the ICT function, and externally enhance collaboration and capacity building. The role also contributes to improving the delivery of results and knowledge management, building business relationships, and fostering innovation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the ICT Function and Provide Technical and Operational Support
Provide leadership and support for the management of the ICT function and related technical and operational activities.
2. Enhance Governance, Collaboration, Relationships and Capacity
Strengthen ICT governance, collaboration, relationships and capacity building within and outside the organization.
3. Improve the Delivery of Results
Support improved delivery of ICT-related results and knowledge management.
4. Foster Innovation
Promote innovation and support the development and use of effective ICT solutions.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Education
An advanced university degree is required in:
Computer Science Software Engineering Information Technology Management Business Administration Another relevant technical field
Professional Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in information technology management and business operations in a large international organization and/or corporation is required.
ICT Technical Competencies
Certification and/or proven experience in one of the following ICT technical competency areas is required:
ICT Project Management Business Analytics Information Security ICT Audit and Risk Management Telecommunications Networks Information Security Software Engineering and Programming
Language
Proficiency in English is required.
Desirable Qualifications
The following are considered assets:
Knowledge of another official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish Knowledge of a local language Experience working in a UN organization Relevant country-level experience, particularly in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
