The Center is seeking an experienced Accountant in Ethiopia to join its team in Jinka Town . Position: Accountant
Key Responsibilities
Manage financial reporting and accounting tasks for the RB/LF elimination program. Verify supporting documents before payment approval. Post transactions into QuickBooks or other accounting software. Prepare monthly closings and periodic financial reports. Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Monitor fund utilization and ensure compliance with NGO financial policies. Prepare reports for government offices as required. Handle bank activities including transfers, deposits, withdrawals, and statements. Maintain filing systems for petty cash, vouchers, and transactions. Close accounts and prepare audit reports at fiscal year end.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: BA Degree in Accounting and Finance from a recognized university. Experience: Minimum of 4 years in Accounting and Finance. Prior NGO experience in Ethiopia is highly preferred. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) and proven experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Smart, etc.). Excellent communication skills in Amharic and English . Ability to work in teams and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. Willingness to travel and work in remote areas. Recommendation letter from most recent employer. Release letter from current employer within two weeks of job offer.
