The Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau is inviting qualified teachers to apply for teaching positions in government secondary schools (Grades 11 and 12) for the 2026 Ethiopian academic year.
The bureau is seeking candidates in the following educational fields, from entry-level graduates to those with teacher-level qualifications.

Position 1: English Teacher  

Educational Qualification: BED, BA, BSc, or MSc in English.

- Graduation Year: June 2024, 2025, or 2026 graduates from government universities who passed the national exit exam.

- Teaching Level: Primary and secondary schools (Amharic stream).

Position 2: Mathematics Teacher  

Educational Qualification: BED, BA, BSc, or MSc in Mathematics.

- Graduation Year: June 2024, 2025, or 2026 graduates from government universities who passed the national exit exam.

- Teaching Level: Primary and secondary schools (all language streams).

Position 3: History Teacher  

Educational Qualification: BED, BA, BSc, or MSc in History.

- Graduation Year: June 2024, 2025, or 2026 graduates from government universities who passed the national exit exam.

- Teaching Level: Secondary schools.

Position 4: Geography Teacher  

Educational Qualification: BED, BA, BSc, or MSc in Geography.

- Graduation Year: June 2024, 2025, or 2026 graduates from government universities who passed the national exit exam.

- Teaching Level: Secondary schools.

Position 5: Economics Teacher  

Educational Qualification: BED, BA, or BSc in Economics.

- Graduation Year: June 2024, 2025, or 2026 graduates from government universities who passed the national exit exam.

- Teaching Level: Secondary schools.

Position 6: Performing and Visual Art Teacher  

Educational Qualification: Diploma, BA, or BSc in music, fine arts, or sport.

- Graduation Year: June 2024, 2025, or 2026 graduates from government universities who passed the national exit exam.

- Teaching Level: Primary schools (Amharic and Afaan Oromoo streams).

Position 7: Afaan Oromoo Teacher – Special Needs Education  

Educational Qualification: Degree or master's degree in the relevant field.

- Additional Requirement: Sign language proficiency.

- Place of Work: Special needs education schools serving students with hearing impairments.

Position 8: English Teacher – Special Needs Education  

Educational Qualification: Degree or master's degree in the relevant field.

- Additional Requirement: Sign language proficiency.

- Place of Work: Special needs education schools serving students with hearing impairments.

Position 9: Sign Language Interpreter  

Educational Qualification: Degree or Master’s degree in the relevant field.

- Additional Requirement: Sign language proficiency.

Position 10: Economics Teacher – Special Needs Education  

Educational Qualification: Degree or Master’s degree in the relevant field.

- Additional Requirement: Sign language proficiency.

Position 11: Chemistry Teacher – Special Needs Education  

Educational Qualification: Degree or Master’s degree in the relevant field.

- Additional Requirement: Sign language proficiency.

Position 12: History Teacher – Special Needs Education  

Educational Qualification: Degree or Master’s degree in the relevant field.

- Additional Requirement: Sign language proficiency.

Position 13: Civics / Ethical Education Teacher  

Educational Qualification: Degree or Master’s degree in the relevant field.

- Additional Requirement: Sign language proficiency.

Position 14: Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher  

Educational Qualification: Degree in Banking, Economics, Accounting, Marketing, Management, or Business Education.

- Teaching Level: Grades 7 and 8.

Position 15: Performing and Visual Art Teacher—Special Needs Recruitment  

Educational Qualification:  
  - Diploma: Music, Fine Arts, or Sport.

  - Degree: Fine Arts, Music, or Theatre Arts.

Position 16: Web Design and Development Teacher  

Educational Qualification:  
  - Degree Fields: Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.

  - Master’s Degree Fields: Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Website Design and Development, Web Development, or Database Administration.

Position 17: ICT Teacher  

Educational Qualification:  
  - Degree Fields: ICT, Computer Engineering, IT, Information Systems, or Information Sciences.

  - Master’s Degree Fields: ICT, IT, Information Systems, or Information Sciences.

Position 18: Marketing and Sales Management Teacher  

Educational Qualification:  
  - Degree Fields: Marketing and Sales Management Education, Marketing and Sales Management, Marketing Management, International Marketing and Investment Management, Cooperative Marketing, Management, Business Management, Business Administration, or Business Education.

  - Master’s Degree Fields: Marketing Management Education, Marketing Management, International Marketing and Investment Management, or Business Administration.

Position 19: Special Needs Education Teacher  

Educational Qualification: Diploma or degree in Special Needs Education.

- Additional Requirements: Braille and sign language skills.

General Requirements  
- Applicants must have a PGDT (Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching) or Pedagogy certificate and meet the applicable national exit examination requirements.

- Fresh graduates must be graduates of government universities from the specified graduation years.

For applicants with prior experience or those transferring, service experience obtained outside government schools will not be considered.

Experience letters must be issued within the last three months.

Applicants are required to present their original educational documents, results of exit examinations, PGDT certificate, valid identification, and non-returnable photocopies.

Registration must be done in person; registration through a third party is not allowed.

Applicants who apply for more than one subject area will be disqualified.
