Role description
Stichting Wageningen Research Ethiopia (SWR Ethiopia) is an international non-governmental organization that has been registered in Ethiopia with the FDRE Agency for Civil Society Organizations since March 2021. The primary objective of the organization is to foster more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems within Ethiopia. One of the key functions of SWR Ethiopia, through its Ethiopia Seed Partnership (ESP) project, is to enhance the skills of recent graduates in seed-related disciplines and to create employment opportunities for them.
SWR Ethiopia invites talented and driven young graduates to participate in our internship program, which is designed to further their professional development and facilitate their connection to the labor market.
Position: Intern – at different local and International seed companies
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- A recent graduate from a recognized university in the field of Horticulture, Plant Science, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Marketing, and Crop Production A graduate from Agricultural TVETs and has satisfactory results from the CoC (for level IV) Interested in working in the seed sector
- Applicants should have a confirmation letter from host organizations (a letter that states
- the seed company /agricultural research center is willing to give him/her a placement as an intern (for 3-6 months)
- Able to undertake the required internship training
- Willing to participate in the internship program on a full-time basis Not previously participated in any internship program;
- Meet any other requirements listed on the application form.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF INTERNS
- As an intern, you are expected to:
- Participating in pre-assignment, follow-up, and on-the-job training;
- Gain a good understanding of the mission, values, and day-to-day operations of the organization;
- Undertake the assignments given by the host organization;
- Develop your existing skills and learn new experiences that will be useful for your career;
- Work in a dynamic and multicultural environment that will help to broaden your
- professional network.
Duration of the assignment: – Three to six months
Location: In different parts of the country
