About the Position
The Senior Mechanic will oversee and carry out mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of production machinery and equipment. The role focuses on maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient factory operations while helping reduce equipment downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on production machinery and equipment. Diagnose mechanical faults and repair machines, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, pumps, conveyors, and other mechanical components. Supervise and guide junior mechanics during maintenance and repair activities. Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions. Ensure proper lubrication, alignment, installation, and adjustment of mechanical components. Maintain maintenance records, spare-parts inventories, and equipment service histories. Coordinate with production teams and other maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime. Follow workplace safety procedures and established maintenance standards.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet one of the following qualification and experience requirements:
BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering: At least 6 years of relevant work experience. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: At least 10 years of relevant work experience.
