Job Title
: Senior Machinery Sales Officer
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed assigned sales and territory targets.
Prospect and identify new business opportunities within commercial sectors, government institutions, NGOs, contractors, and private enterprises.
Manage customer accounts and effectively negotiate and close sales opportunities.
Advise customers on selecting appropriate machinery and equipment based on operational requirements, terrain conditions, productivity needs, and budget.
Coordinate and conduct product demonstrations, site visits, and technical presentations.
Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and bid documents.
Identify, monitor, and participate in machinery-related tenders and procurement opportunities.
Coordinate tender submissions and ensure compliance with tender requirements, specifications, and deadlines.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, procurement officers, and key stakeholders.
Work closely with after-sales, workshop, technical, and spare-parts teams to facilitate delivery, commissioning, operator training, and maintenance support.
Assist customers in securing financing options, leasing arrangements, or bank loans where available.
Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and customer requirements.
Collaborate effectively with internal teams to achieve departmental sales objectives and enhance customer satisfaction.
Support and guide junior sales personnel during customer visits, demonstrations, and tender preparation activities.
Prepare periodic sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence updates for management.
Strong team collaboration and cross-functional coordination skills.
Experience in tender sales, bid preparation, and contract documentation
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
Experience:
Typically, 4+ years of proven experience in technical sales, specifically handling machinery, heavy equipment, or industrial products.
Skills:
Strong technical understanding of machinery, excellent negotiation and communication abilities, and a proven track record of target achievement.
