Key Responsibilities
The Principal Datacenter Officer will:
Ensure the continuous availability, stability and security of data center operations. Manage and support critical data center infrastructure, including power supply, cooling and environmental systems. Minimize downtime, meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and maximize business uptime. Provide operational support, including after-hours and emergency response. Ensure data center activities comply with established policies, procedures, security standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor and optimize the performance of air conditioning systems, UPS units, generators, network video recorders (NVR) and access control systems. Assess data center infrastructure requirements and participate in the design, implementation and renovation of data center facilities. Monitor environmental systems and infrastructure components, including servers, storage and networking equipment. Manage physical security, data center layout and space utilization. Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and implement improvements to minimize service interruptions.
Required Qualifications
Education
BSc Degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Power Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Information Technology or an equivalent field.
Additional Advantage
MSc Degree in any of the relevant fields listed above. Professional qualifications or certifications in Data Center Infrastructure Management, Electrical Power Systems, HVAC/Precision Cooling Systems, Facility Management or Critical Infrastructure Management.
Required Work Experience
A minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience .
Required Technical Competencies
Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting: Ability to optimize the performance of air conditioning systems, UPS units, generators, NVR and access control systems to minimize downtime. Data Center Systems Design and Implementation: Ability to assess data center requirements and participate in designing, implementing or renovating data center facilities. Data Center Operations Monitoring and Management: Ability to administer data center facilities and monitor environmental systems, power supply, cooling systems, generators and other infrastructure components. Infrastructure Management: Knowledge of physical security, data center layout, space management, servers, storage and networking equipment.
