Position Overview
PxD is seeking a Research Associate to join a high‑performing, flexible, and non‑hierarchical research and program team. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to new workstreams, collaborate with PxD researchers, and support the testing, refinement, and scaling of innovative digital agriculture solutions.
The ideal candidate is passionate about PxD’s mission and skilled in rigorous research methods, fieldwork, data analysis, and user‑centered design.
Key Responsibilities
Support scoping, design, piloting, and scaling of evidence‑backed digital agriculture services. Conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection (surveys, FGDs, interviews) and data cleaning. Work with program teams to design user‑centered products and conduct human‑centered design (HCD) activities. Produce organized data summaries, descriptive statistics, and simple regression analysis. Contribute to report writing, literature reviews, and desk research. Maintain and update project documentation. Assist in managing partner relations and coordinating with external stakeholders. Support internal and external communications, including briefs, blogs, reports, and presentations. Contribute to PxD’s institutional knowledge management and learning systems.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, International Development, or related fields. Strong understanding of economics, econometrics, and randomized evaluations. Proficiency in Stata , R , or similar statistical software. Experience conducting field research in LMIC contexts. Experience using SurveyCTO , ODK , or similar survey tools. Ability to interpret data and identify program improvement pathways. Strong writing and communication skills in English. Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders. Willingness to travel to field sites within Ethiopia (subject to security conditions).
