About The Job The company is looking for a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead and manage the Amen Natural Spring Water PLC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end operations of the Amen Water bottling facility. This role ensures that production targets are met on time, within budget, and in total compliance with safety and water quality standards, and will drive a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that the Source to Shelf process is seamless. About You Key Responsibilities Production & Operations Management Plan, organize, and oversee daily water production operations to meet volume, quality, and cost targets. Ensure continuous and efficient operation of treatment, bottling, packaging, and storage processes. Monitor production schedules and adjust resources to meet demand and delivery deadlines. Minimize downtime, wastage, and production losses. Quality Assurance & Food Safety Ensure compliance with national drinking water standards (e.g., EFDA Standards & guidelines). Oversee water treatment processes (filtration, RO, UV, ozonation, etc.) and bottling hygiene. Implement and monitor Quality Management Systems (QMS), GMP, HACCP, and sanitation programs. Ensure regular laboratory testing of raw water, treated water, and finished products. Ensure the preform, cap, and shrink wrap meet the quality standard before going to market. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance Enforce workplace health and safety standards across the plant. Ensure safe handling of chemicals and treatment materials. Implement environmental controls for wastewater, solid waste, and emissions. Lead safety training, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Maintenance & Asset Management Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of production machinery, treatment systems, and utilities. Plan equipment upgrades, spare parts availability, and shutdown schedules. Ensure optimal utilization and long-term care of plant assets. Cost Control & Budget Management Prepare and manage plant budgets and operating costs. Control expenses related to utilities, raw materials, chemicals, packaging, and labour. Monitor production efficiency, yield, and cost per unit. Identify and implement cost-saving and productivity improvement initiatives. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination Oversee inventory levels of raw water sources, chemicals, bottles, caps, labels, and spare parts. Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted production. Ensure proper storage, FIFO practices, and stock accuracy. Regulatory & Stakeholder Coordination Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, inspectors, and certification bodies. Ensure timely renewal of licenses, permits, and certifications. Support internal and external audits and inspections. Coordinate with head office, sales, logistics, and distribution teams. Reporting & Continuous Improvement Prepare and submit regular production, quality, safety, and cost reports to management. Analyse KPIs and operational data to drive continuous improvement. Lead process optimization, efficiency improvement, and capacity expansion projects. Implement best practices and new technologies in water production. People Management & Development Lead, supervise, and develop production, quality, maintenance, and support teams. Conduct regular performance reviews and identify the team’s technical and skill-development training needs. Promote discipline, teamwork, and a strong safety and quality culture. Manage disciplinary measures and grievance procedures in line with company policy to ensure a motivated workforce. Experience & Qualifications: First Degree or Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical /Food Engineering or related field of studies with a minimum of 8 years experience, of which at least 3 years in a managerial or plant leadership role (Experience in FMCG, beverage bottling, or plastic/PET extrusion plants is highly preferred) Knowing the Oromifa Language will be advantageous.
