Position: Junior Accountant

 Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from a recognized institution.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
  • Basic knowledge of Ethiopian tax requirements, including VAT, withholding tax, and payroll (income) tax.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related finance role.
  • Hands-on experience preparing tax declarations and making tax payments.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Peachtree/Sage, or similar systems.
  • Experience or interest in manufacturing, food production, or hospitality accounting.
  • Professional certification progress (for example, CPA or ACCA) or a commitment to pursuing it.

  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication, in English and Amharic.
  • Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate with colleagues across departments and branches.
  • Initiative: Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and grow within the role.
