Job Purpose
The Junior ESG and Occupational Health Officer will assist in implementing and monitoring environmental, social, governance, and occupational health and safety programs. The role focuses on workplace inspections, environmental monitoring, compliance documentation, employee awareness, and sustainability initiatives to promote a safe and environmentally responsible manufacturing workplace.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health Science, or a related field. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. A minimum CGPA of 2.8 is indicated in the vacancy announcement.
Additional Knowledge and Skills
Basic knowledge of workplace safety, environmental protection, and industrial risk management is an advantage. Knowledge of International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards or other relevant environmental and social sustainability standards is an added advantage but is not mandatory. Commitment to continuous learning and workplace safety. Ability to identify and report workplace hazards and unsafe conditions. Attention to detail in maintaining inspection records and compliance documentation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Junior ESG and Occupational Health Officer is expected to:
Conduct assigned workplace safety inspections and maintain accurate records. Promptly report hazards, incidents, and unsafe working conditions. Support compliance with company safety and environmental procedures. Assist in implementing corrective actions to address identified risks. Support employee awareness activities related to occupational health, safety, and environmental responsibility. Contribute to sustainability initiatives and the continuous improvement of workplace safety practices.
