Role description
National Cement’s Lemi Plant, which recently commenced operations in Lemi alongside the Dire Dawa facility, is presently part of a joint venture established between East African Holding and West International Holding (WIH), a Chinese industrial enterprise listed on the stock market with a valuation in the billions.
With the completion of its Lemi plant in September 2024, National Cement now fulfills over 50% of Ethiopia’s current cement demand. The joint venture partners, National Cement Share Company and West China Cement / West International Holding Co. Ltd, have formalized an agreement for a USD 2.2 billion investment to be executed in various phases.
Position 1: DCS Engineer
Required Qualification: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Automation and Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering.
Work Experience: Above 2 years better to work as DCS specifically in a continuous process industry (Cement, Power, or Steel).

Position 2: Equipment Administrator
- Required Qualification:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc. / BA) from a recognized university. Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology (with heavy industrial experience),
- Level IV / Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Technology, Industrial,
- Work Experience: A minimum of 4 to 5 years of progressive experience in asset management, maintenance planning, technical documentation, or warehouse/stores administration within an industrial setting.

- Equipment Asset Registry & Hierarchy Management
- Technical Documentation & Blueprint Archiving
- Equipment Lifecycle Tracking & Depreciation Compliance
- Statutory Compliance, Licensing & Certification Management
- CMMS & Data Integrity Management
- Familiarity with cement industry technical drawings or basic CAD environments (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) is an added advantage.

Position 3: Senior Production & Maintenance Engineer
- Required Qualification: A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree from a recognized university Mechanical Engineering, Chemical/Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 6 to 8 years of direct, progressive engineering experience specifically within a cement manufacturing plant.
