Role description

Empowering People for Sustainable Solutions (EPSS) is a not- for- profit humanitarian non-governmental organization whose headquarters is located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was established in 2021 with the aim of providing awareness for customers on safety, security and well-being by surpassing its performance every day. This licensed entity with the motto, “Empowering Community, Transforming Life ‘’, was founded by veterans having a vision of becoming a leader in threat, risk assessment, safety and security services as remnants of war, exceeding all expectations in Ethiopia in particular and in East Africa in general []

It provides explosive ordnance risk education (EORE), Non-Technical Survey (NTS), explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), minefield survey, travel risk management services and importantly safety and security services, Rehabilitation and Conflict Resolution to help the recovery and development of affected communities.

EPSS is looking for qualified and competent applicants for the following positions:

01. EORE/NTS Team leader

Location: Central zone Tigray     |    Deadline: June 4, 2026

EPSS in collaboration with Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is currently at the verge of starting the project entitled: Enhancing EORE and NTS in Conflict Affected Woredas of the Central Zone, Tigray Regional State.

  • Term of Employment: Contract
  • Contract duration: 7 Months
  • Staff required: One (01)
  • Duty station: Central zone Tigray
  • Salary: As per the organization’s scale

EORE TEAM LEADER JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Operations manager, the EORE/NTS Team Leader shall be stationed at Axum and will be carrying out activities in the target woredas of Central zone and he/she will be responsible for overall implementation, EORE training, Identifying and marking hazard areas (NTS), documentation of the project implementation records and reporting to the Operations manager.

Main tasks of the EORE/NTS Team Leader:

  • Conduct EORE/NTS in the target areas in consultation with the Operations manager and trainers.
  • Provide technical support to the EORE/NTS trainers for effective implementation of training and NTS operation,
  • Keep the training records, prepare timely reports and share with the operational manager/project manager,
  • Provide Risk education training to Volunteer Community Focal points (CFP)
  • Write/organize success stories of the project activities implementation and share along with the reports,

About You

  • BA in social sciences, Political Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Mine action project management, community mobilization and training
  • Prior experience in EORE/NTS is required,
  • Strong facilitation skills,
  • Strong determination to promote gender equality,
  • Tigrigna and Amharic language knowledge is mandatory,
  • Good understanding and communication of English language,
