Human Resources Officer
.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive HR operational and administrative support within the factory. The role serves as the primary HR contact for employees on site and ensures smooth execution of HR processes across the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to payroll coordination, employee engagement, compliance, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1 HR Administration and Employee Relations
a. Employee Query Management
Serve as the first point of contact for all HR-related queries from factory employees.
Guide attendance, overtime, incentives, leave balances, salary matters, and company benefits.
Ensure timely resolution of employee concerns while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
b. Attendance and Payroll Coordination
Monitor daily attendance records and ensure accurate timekeeping.
Verify overtime, shift allowances, and incentive calculations.
Prepare and submit accurate payroll inputs to the Finance Department within agreed timelines.
c. Policy Administration and Compliance
Ensure proper implementation of the company's HR policies and procedures at the factory.
Administer employee loan applications in accordance with company policy.
Maintain compliance with Ethiopian labor laws and internal regulations.
Support audits and inspections by ensuring required HR documentation is complete and accessible.
d. Employee Relations and Escalation
Identify potential employee relations issues and proactively address them.
Escalate complex or sensitive cases to the HR Manager or Industrial Relations Specialist.
Support conflict resolution initiatives at the factory level.
2. Talent Management Support
a. Recruitment and Selection
Coordinate recruitment activities for factory-based roles.
Conduct background checks and reference verification.
Participate in interview panels when required.
Ensure proper documentation of recruitment processes.
b. Onboarding and Induction
Facilitate employment documentation and contract signing.
Coordinate medical checks and pre-employment requirements.
Organize and conduct induction programs for new hires.
c. Training and Development
Assist in conducting Training Needs Assessments (TNA).
Coordinate internal and external training programs.
Maintain training records and evaluate training effectiveness.
Support skills development initiatives aligned with operational needs.
d. Employee Engagement
Coordinate employee engagement initiatives such as: Long Service Awards, Employee communication sessions, Team-building and family events, and Support initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture.
e. Disciplinary and Performance Support
Assist supervisors in administering disciplinary procedures in accordance with company policy and Ethiopian labor law.
Maintain proper documentation of warnings, investigations, and outcomes.
Support performance evaluation processes at the factory level.

Experience & Qualifications:
First Degree in Management, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field of study with 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowing the Oromifa Language will be advantageous.
