Job Summary
The Driver will support the STRIDES project country office team by operating project vehicles and transporting staff, consultants, visitors, and other authorized passengers safely to designated destinations.
The role also involves maintaining vehicle cleanliness and security, coordinating routine servicing and repairs, keeping vehicle documents up to date, planning routes, and assisting with transportation-related errands.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Transport country office staff, consultants, and visitors to approved destinations. Ensure the safety, cleanliness, security, and proper maintenance of assigned vehicles. Perform routine vehicle checks, including oil levels, brakes, tire pressure, and general condition. Arrange major vehicle repairs when necessary. Ensure vehicle insurance, logbooks, and other required documents are valid and up to date. Plan routes according to schedules and transportation requests. Ensure passengers follow applicable road safety regulations. Pick up and deliver items and perform other office errands as directed. Assist passengers when entering and exiting vehicles when necessary. Provide protection for clients in locations considered high-risk when required by the assignment. Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
High school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) certificate, or equivalent. Between 0 and 3 years of related driving experience. Valid driving license. Trade test certificate. Clean driving record. Experience operating large vehicles or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Previous experience working with FHI 360 is an advantage.
Additional Requirements
Ability to travel within Ethiopia for up to 25% of the time. Availability to start immediately upon selection is preferred. Ability to work under general supervision and follow instructions. Familiarity with vehicle safety, maintenance, and documentation procedures.
