Factory is Located at Afar Region , Afedera Salt Producing Site and its Head Quarter is in Samara with Branch office in Addis Ababa.
Position Summary
Elad Salt Manufacturing Company is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Factory Manager to lead its salt production and processing operations in Afdera. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing production, maintenance, quality assurance, workforce management, safety compliance, and operational efficiency to ensure the factory meets its production and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all factory operations to achieve production targets and quality standards.
Plan, organize, coordinate, direct and control the overall day to day activities of the Factory.
Prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances; initiating corrective actions
Directs or coordinates operational activities to optimize operation and increase efficiency.
Reviews financial statements, activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity or goal achievement or to identify areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.
Directs and oversee administrative activities directly related to production. Utilization and providing services.
Develop key performance indicators (KPI) and manage staff performance to ensure targets are achieved
Create and implement strategies that support business growth and expansion
Ensure departments deliver high-quality services and meet client expectations
Identify risks and implement corrective actions to improve operational effectiveness
Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
Establishes or implements departmental policies, goals, objectives, procedures in conjunction with, organization officials, or staff members.
Plans procurement of raw materials, spare parts, consumables, and other factory inputs in advance (Imports and /local purchase) based on minimum stock level and lead-time to avoid any interruption of production.
Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.
Oversee the movement of goods/raw materials into and out of production facilities to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, or sustainability of operations.
Implements or oversees environmental management or sustainability programs addressing issues such as recycling, conservation, or waste management.
Ensures that staff at the SBU gets continuous training and development opportunities.
Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems.
Represent the factory in Public and Governmental bodies or meetings.
Ensure Quality throughout the production process.
Generating reports and distribute to concerned bodies.
Performs other activities as required and delegate.
Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate factory staff and department heads.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement and logistics activities.
Prepare operational, financial, and production reports for senior management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or social and natural science field.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant manufacturing experience, including at least 3 years in a senior management position.
Strong leadership, planning, financial management, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in salt processing, mining, manufacturing, FMCG, or related industries is highly desirable.
Experience in salt processing management is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and team management abilities.
