Role description

ESX is Ethiopia’s first, and only organized securities exchange. ESX is being established as a public private partnership in line with Article 31 of the Capital Market Proclamation (No.1248/2021).

ESX operates the business of a securities exchange, functions as a Self-Regulatory Organization (“SRO”), and serves as the central market organizer providing an integrated product suite covering the equities, fixed income, and money market segments of the capital markets.

Position: Young Professional

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree (completed within the last two years) in Accounting and Finance, Economics, Law,Business-related, or a closely related field.
  •  A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 is required.
  • For female applicants, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 is accepted to encourage gender inclusion.
  • Fresh graduates with up to two years of related experience.

Analytical and Quantitative Skills:

  • Demonstrated strong analytical thinking, numerical proficiency, and data interpretation skills.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluent in English and Amharic languages
  • Proficiency in other Ethiopian language(s) is considered an asset.

Additional Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse teams.
  • Interest in financial markets and capital market development.
  • Interest or academic exposure in Islamic finance, including Sharia-compliant securities, will be considered an asset.
