Role description
ESX is Ethiopia’s first, and only organized securities exchange. ESX is being established as a public private partnership in line with Article 31 of the Capital Market Proclamation (No.1248/2021).
ESX operates the business of a securities exchange, functions as a Self-Regulatory Organization (“SRO”), and serves as the central market organizer providing an integrated product suite covering the equities, fixed income, and money market segments of the capital markets.
Position: Sr. Analyst, Business and Product Development
Education
- Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, law or related field (or bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience).
- Professional certifications such as CISI, CFA, ACCA, PMP, PRINCE2, or Product Management certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Experience in program management, business development, market development or consulting roles, preferably within financial services, capital markets or development finance.
- Experience in capital markets, financial services, banking, investment, corporate finance, business development, consulting, regulatory or academic institutions, or similar sectors.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and managing cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience coordinating projects or programs is highly desirable.
The Sr. Analyst, Business and Product Development leads initiatives in issuer development, investor relations and market capacity building, product development and innovation, and the coordination of strategic market development programs.
Reporting to the Chief Business Development Officer, the role works closely with internal teams, regulators, market participants, development partners, and other stakeholders to expand market participation, develop innovative capital market products, and deliver initiatives that advance ESX’s strategic objectives. The position requires a highly organized and collaborative professional with strong program management, stakeholder engagement, analytical skills, and a passion for contributing to the growth of Ethiopia’s Capital market ecosystem.
