The role involves supporting geotechnical investigations, foundation design, technical calculations, site activities, and project documentation.

Job Responsibilities
The Junior Geotechnical Engineer will support the engineering team with:
Reviewing geotechnical investigation reports, borehole logs, and laboratory or field test results. Assisting with soil-profile interpretation and preparation of geotechnical data summaries. Supporting foundation design and calculations, including bearing capacity, settlement, and soil pressure. Assisting with shallow, raft, pile, and retaining-related foundation design under supervision. Participating in soil investigation, foundation, excavation, and compaction activities at project sites. Preparing calculation sheets, technical notes, site reports, and other project documentation. Supporting geotechnical and foundation optimization studies. Coordinating with structural engineers, site teams, laboratories, and consultants when required. Developing knowledge of geotechnical engineering software, applicable standards, and design practices.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field . 0–2 years of relevant experience ; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Strong academic performance, particularly in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering . Basic knowledge of geotechnical investigation, foundation design, bearing capacity, and settlement analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and AutoCAD . Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn, work under supervision, and travel to project sites.
Additional Skills and Knowledge
The following are considered advantages:
Knowledge of Eurocode 7 and Ethiopian Building Codes. Exposure to PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar geotechnical engineering software . Knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D. Technical training related to construction or civil engineering. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations calmly. Social media and digital communication skills.
