Position Summary
The Ocean Freight Team Leader will coordinate and implement OFR operations and customer service strategies to ensure smooth flow of goods and information across global supply chains. The role involves managing day‑to‑day team operations, optimizing resources, and driving profitability while maintaining compliance with corporate guidelines and policies.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate implementation of OFR Ops/CS strategies in line with business objectives. Monitor daily operations, assign tasks, and ensure service delivery targets are met. Develop and achieve ocean freight productivity targets. Support product development in areas such as perishables, pharmaceuticals, and aviation. Expand business with new clients and strengthen relationships with existing customers. Track account performance and prepare monthly management reports. Respond to pricing enquiries efficiently and update local tariffs. Manage inbound and outbound documentation for import/export services. Detect operational issues and implement improved practices for efficiency. Create and confirm transport orders, optimize bookings, and prepare shipping documents. Coordinate with customs, suppliers, and external service providers to resolve issues.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Logistics or equivalent field. Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience in freight forwarding. In‑depth knowledge of ocean freight operations and customs procedures. Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Cargowise. Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
