Community Facilitator (EORE) - Afar, Zone 2

Dan Church Aid (DCA) is a Denmark-based international NGO registered under certificate # 1083 by the Authority for Civil Society Organizations and working to improve the well-being of particularly the rural and peri-urban people in Ethiopia. DCA’s Programme mainly focuses on saving lives, building resilience, and fighting inequality, targeting highly disaster-prone areas in Oromia, Amhara, Afar, South Omo, and Gambella regions.

DCA Ethiopia Office is looking for a competent Community Facilitator / EORE Trainer

Position Objective

The EORE Trainer's purpose is to support the EORE officer in the implementation of EORE interpersonal, Victim Assistance, and NTS activities in the Afar region zone 2 DCA target woredas.

Purpose

• Assist the EORE officer and team leader in the planning of EORE tasks when required.
• Provide basic risk education to affected communities and recommend more advanced risk education intervention by the Risk Education team whenever needed.
• Excellent in designing and adopting locally EORE IEC materials based on the IMAS standards
• Deliver EORE ToT to CFPs
• Conduct explosive ordnance risk education activities and sessions as required.

Engagement

• In accordance with the DCA EORE Standard Operating Procedures, the Ethiopian National Technical Standards and Guidelines for EORE, and the EORE activity plan, the EORE Facilitator will perform the EORE & Victim Assistance activities, including targeting and identification of at-risk beneficiaries in the Afar region, zone 2 targeted woredas.
• Implement and maintain appropriate Quality Management systems to ensure quality of EORE delivery.
• Be familiar with and follow all safety SOPs in DCA Ethiopia and communicate any change in the security situation to the EORE Officer and DCA Access and Safety unit.
• Maintain good communication with partner organizations.

Delivery

• Ensure timely delivery of information to beneficiaries, AoR members, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Accountable for ensuring that all complaints raised by beneficiaries are logged into the complaint logbook.

Salary Range: As per the DCA salary Scale

• Minimum Diploma in social science or tertiary education in any other relevant field will be a recommendation
• At least 3 years of proven experience in EORE implementation
• Certificate/Accreditation of participation in an EORE (or similar) Training
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
• Previous experience in conducting interviews and surveys.
• Fluency in English and Amharic
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent ability to work in a team.
• Good Knowledge of local communities in the Afar region is an advantage.
• Excellent Computer skills
• Proficient in English language
• Fluency in local Afaref language is mandatory
