Chinese-Speaking Business Development Assistant
Company: Credence Enterprises Employment Type: Contract-Based, with Probation Period Location: Addis Ababa Office Location: Around 22, near Axum Hotel
Credence Enterprises is looking for a capable, responsible, and business-minded Chinese-speaking candidate to support its customer communication and business development activities.
The main purpose of this position is to help the company establish professional communication with Chinese-speaking businesspeople and companies in Ethiopia. The selected candidate will support relationship building, meeting arrangements, translation, customer follow-up, and business communication.
This is not a normal office translation position. The candidate must be confident, organized, proactive, and comfortable communicating with business owners and company managers.
Main Responsibilities
Identify and establish communication with potential Chinese-speaking business contacts. Communicate professionally with Chinese managers, owners, and company representatives. Use telephone, email, WeChat, and other communication platforms for business purposes. Introduce Credence Enterprises in a professional manner. Arrange business meetings and accompany management during meetings or customer visits when required. Translate basic business conversations and written communications between Chinese and English or Amharic. Collect customer information and communicate it accurately to management. Follow up meetings, inquiries, proposals, and agreed actions. Maintain organized records of contacts, conversations, and follow-up activities. Prepare regular activity and customer follow-up reports. Support management in business development and customer relationship activities.
Required Qualifications
Good spoken and written Chinese-language ability. Ability to communicate professionally in English or Amharic. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Confidence in approaching and communicating with Chinese businesspeople. Ability to use WeChat professionally. Good organization and follow-up skills. Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Honest, disciplined, responsible, and willing to learn. Ability to visit customer locations within Addis Ababa and nearby areas when required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous work or study experience involving Chinese nationals or Chinese companies. Experience in business development, sales support, customer service, translation, or administration. Knowledge of Chinese business culture and professional communication. Previous experience arranging meetings or following up business customers.
Fresh graduates with strong Chinese-language ability, confidence, discipline, and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Employment Structure
The position will initially be offered on a contract and probationary basis. Compensation will include an agreed fixed payment and may include performance-based incentives. Final compensation will depend on the candidate’s Chinese-language ability, experience, availability, and performance. The selected candidate will work directly under the supervision of Credence Enterprises management. The candidate will not have authority to make final commercial or financial decisions on behalf of the company.
