Awash Capital S.C invites qualified applicants for the following job positions.

Awash Capital S.C. is a licensed investment bank operating in Ethiopia’s capital market and a trading member of the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX). The company provides investment banking and advisory-related financial services within Ethiopia’s regulated financial sector.

Position 1: Senior Finance Officer

Job Summary

The Senior Finance Officer will be responsible for financial reporting, accounting, tax compliance, regulatory reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, and financial controls in accordance with IFRS and applicable regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports per IFRS.
  • Ensure accurate accounting records and timely month-end and year-end financial closing.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports to ECMA, ESX, and CSD.
  • File VAT, withholding, income, payroll, and other tax returns.
  • Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, and client fund segregation.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Support investment banking and advisory fee accounting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • MSc/MBA is preferred.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA or CPA, or active registration with the Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia (AABE), is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional accounting/finance experience, including at least 2 years in a senior finance or accounting role.
  • Direct experience in the financial services sector or another regulated financial institution is preferred.

Skills & Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS.
  • Expertise in Ethiopian tax law and compliance.
  • Peachtree/Sage proficiency is mandatory.
  • Strong Excel skills; ERP experience is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of investment banking operations, asset management, and financial markets.
  • Strong analytical, financial modelling, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly regulated investment-banking environment.
