Job Purpose
The Motorist is responsible for the rapid, secure, and weather-protected delivery of urgent documents, cheques, and small parcels between the Bank, its branches, and external stakeholders, including the central bank and tax authorities.
Key Responsibilities
General Duties
Uphold the Bank’s code of conduct, workplace culture, and corporate image. Promote teamwork, collaboration, and transparent work practices. Deliver services in accordance with established service-level agreements. Contribute to the Bank’s objectives and assigned targets. Comply with internal controls and the Bank’s risk management procedures. Submit timely, accurate, relevant, and complete reports on work performance. Implement corrective actions to address deficiencies and issues identified by internal or external regulatory bodies.
Specific Duties
Deliver urgent documents, packages, and transfer letters promptly to Bank branches, corporate clients, government offices, and other stakeholders, following appropriate dispatch procedures. Facilitate the movement of high-priority documents to designated signatories and ensure signed documents are returned to the originating department without delay. Keep the motorbike clean and presentable to maintain the Bank’s professional image. Immediately report tracking-device malfunctions, mechanical problems, and road accidents to the Manager. Conduct daily motorbike inspections, including checks of tires, brakes, and engine performance, to help prevent breakdowns. Maintain accurate mileage logs and repair records to support the tracking of fuel usage and maintenance costs. Ensure all delivered documents are properly acknowledged through signatures on return copies or entries in the dispatch book.
Qualifications and Requirements
Completion of Grade 10 or Grade 12. An Old Grade 1 or motor vehicle driving license, as specified in the vacancy announcement. At least two years of relevant work experience .
