Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: The vacancy says the place of work is “Project”. What does this mean?

A: “Project” indicates that these are heavily field-based roles. Instead of working at the Addis Ababa corporate headquarters, successful candidates will be deployed directly to active MIDROC construction sites across the country where the actual civil engineering work is taking place.

Q: Are these permanent corporate positions?

A: No. The “Employee type” is explicitly listed as “Contract” for all 69 positions. In the construction industry, these contracts are typically tied to the lifespan and phases of specific infrastructure mega-projects, though they can often be renewed as new projects are awarded.

Q: For the Senior Auto Electrician role, why are the experience years different based on my education?

A: MIDROC scales its experience requirements based on the intensity of your academic background. If you hold a Level 4 Diploma, you need 8 years of practical experience. However, if you hold a more rigorous university Degree in Electrical Engineering, the experience requirement is halved to just 4 years.

Q: Can I apply for multiple roles at once?

A: The application instructions state that “applicants must mention the position that applying for in their application.” It is highly advisable to select the single position you are most qualified for and tailor your application letter specifically to that role to avoid administrative confusion.
