Role description
1. Organizational Context
The Creative Kingdom Program is a transformative ecosystem focused on driving innovation, economic growth, and social impact through homegrown technology and creative solutions in Ethiopia. Our goal is to empower individuals as problem-solvers and position Ethiopia as a global contributor to the creative economy, with an ambitious target of creating 5 million jobs within five years.
2. Role Summary
Reporting to the CTO, the Grants & Resource Mobilization Coordinator will serve as the technical engine for organizational growth. The position holder will be responsible for identifying funding leads, drafting high-quality technical proposals, and managing a rigorous grant compliance system to ensure all partnership opportunities are pursued with technical precision.
3. Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
A. Pipeline Development & Intelligence
Conduct daily monitoring of donor portals (USAID, EU, Foundations) to identify calls for proposals aligned with the program mission.
Perform initial eligibility screenings against mandatory donor criteria.
Maintain a real-time "Funding Tracker" to provide leadership with visibility on upcoming deadlines and submission statuses.
B. Proposal Development & Technical Writing
Lead the drafting of concept notes, Letters of Inquiry (LOIs), and full technical proposals.
Coordinate the assembly of complex bid packages, including staff CVs, past performance reports, and registration documents.
Standardize a "boilerplate" library of organizational success stories and technical approaches to increase submission efficiency.
C. Strategic Partnership & Consortium Coordination
Map and vet local/international NGOs and private sector players for potential co-applications.
Identify "Gap-Filler" partners to enhance the competitiveness of joint grant applications.
Facilitate the drafting and signing of MOUs and Teaming Agreements before grant opportunities arise.
Organize pre-bid workshops with partners to ensure project designs are substantive and collaborative.
D. Grant Management & Stewardship
Act as the primary focal point for communication within multi-partner consortiums.
Manage a schedule of regular "touchpoints" with existing partners to ensure active engagement outside of bid cycles.
Manage the full grant lifecycle: from initial "Go/No-Go" assessments to post-award tracking and donor updates.
Education:
Master’s degree in International Development, Economics, or related field.
Experience:
3–5 years of experience in grant writing or business development within the NGO sector.
Communication:
Exceptional written and verbal English proficiency.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word (styles/templates) and Excel for budget coordination.
Competencies
: High-level detail orientation, time management, and the ability to manage multiple high-pressure deadlines.
