Role Purpose
The Category Buyer supports the Category Manager in ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable sourcing of materials and services. The role focuses on operational execution, supplier engagement, and day-to-day procurement activities, contributing to the overall success of category strategies while maintaining compliance and stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Procurement
: Execute purchase orders, supplier follow-ups, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Supplier Engagement
: Maintain relationships with suppliers, monitor performance, and escalate issues to the Category Manager.
Contract Compliance
: Ensure adherence to negotiated terms and conditions in daily transactions.
Cost Monitoring
: Track spend, identify variances, and support cost-saving initiatives.
Quality Assurance Support
: Collaborate with brewing, packaging, and operations teams to ensure materials meet technical and regulatory standards.
Risk Awareness
: Monitor supply risks and report potential issues to the Category Manager.
Data & Reporting
: Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and provide reports for category performance reviews.
Cross-functional Support
: Work closely with finance, logistics, and operations to align procurement activities with business needs.
Continuous Improvement
: Suggest process improvements and contribute to efficiency in procurement operations.

Procurement Knowledge
: Understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, and contract execution.

: Ability to analyze supplier performance, costs, and market data.

: Clear and professional interaction with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

: Familiarity with brewery raw materials, packaging, and indirect categories.

: Strong execution focus, ensuring accuracy and compliance in daily tasks.

: Ability to work effectively under the guidance of the Category Manager and across teams.

: Flexibility to manage multiple priorities and respond to dynamic business needs.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Supply Chain
, Procurement, Business, or related field
2–4 years of procurement or buying experience, preferably in FMCG or brewery industry
Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools
Familiarity with food safety, packaging, and indirect procurement categories
Strong organizational and communication skills
